That's a Wrap!

Phew! We finally wrapped up July and are heading into August at a dead run. Already this month we have explored many topics and even squeezed in an adventure this weekend with the help of Grandma Slates.

As I reflected on our month and calculated hours, I thought some of you would enjoy seeing the projects we finished up in July. This includes an adorable Zero the Hero that my girls put a special twist on as well as an Alligator A that big brother helped with. We explored letters and numbers for Pre-K and Kindie and dove into multiplication and division in 3rd grade. Furthermore, we tackled the 7 continents, Symbols of America and some really fantastic Speech and Occupational Therapy activities. I added links below to take you to where we found our resources and give credit where credit is due. We are not affiliated with any of these groups and don't make money off your clicks. We just enjoy sharing some fantastic finds that we have been thankful for. If you try any of these with your family, we would love to see your pictures! Post them below in the comments section and tell us what you thought. Enjoy!

We really love this Etsy shop. Her bundles make great supplements to what we are doing when it comes to book work. She also makes fantastic print and go lessons we can take with us on the road or print off and take outside when the weather is just too good to be stuck inside. I have used her stuff for several years now and have loved every single thing we have tried. Many grade levels to choose from and lots of options/styles to fit your needs.

We made these awesome Zero the Hero crafts in July as we learned what it meant to have zero of something! The girls got a kick out of these guys and they're currently flying around the school room ceiling. LOL Big brother suggested they flip the smiles upside down and I can't decide if they look like robots or just really angry! The amount of giggling that came from this group after the zeros were dried and hung was phenomenal.

Following Mr. Zero, we created Alligator A's, which the kids fondly nicknamed

A-igators. They put their own creative twists on them with some girly eyelashes and a curly mustache! Bubs drew, cut and glued his entire project, while I drew and gave some assistance with cutting for the girls. But they assembled everything on their own. I was very impressed with bubby's attention to detail as he gave his A "real, life-like" alligator eyes.

For our American and 7 Continents studies, we found lots of excellent freebies on Teachers Pay Teachers. This is truly an invaluable resource that we have been using since day one of homeschooling about 4.5 years ago.

This is where I got our incredible letter of the week activities from. We do one page a day and focus on the sounds each letter makes. I always include a craft for each letter too. Hints our A-igators from above.

This is the kit we have been using this month during some of our OT sessions. It has helped our middle autistic daughter tremendously with her strength and hand/eye coordination. We are so happy to have found this shop!

And last, but most certainly not least, our speech therapy kit. We found this little shop recently and have been overjoyed by the detail that goes into these. The monthly themes have been amazing! We have purchased 3 months so far and are blown away every single time a new one arrives. She includes a list of different ways to use them, ways to play and ways to involve sensory bins. We have yet to use all the possible activities of a single kit. We cannot get enough of these.

This is just a small sample of the places gather materials from. I hope you can use and enjoy some of these as we have. I can't wait to see what August holds.

Until next time,

Sam
